Together with journalist Arnfrid Schenk (Die Zeit, Germany) and as part of his role in the directorate of the Germany-based Gesellschaft für bedrohte Sprachen, Stefan Schnell recently published the Atlas der vom Aussterben bedrohten Sprachen with DuMont. The atlas profiles 50 endangered languages from around the world and provides an overview of linguistic diversity, the threats it faces, efforts to preserve it, and the cultural losses associated with language extinction.
