Specialized Master of Science in Evolutionary Language Science

Welcome to the new MSc in Evolutionary Language Science!

The Master’s program Evolutionary Language Science will be offered as a specialized Mono Master's of Science Program (120 ECTS), starting from Fall Semester 2025. 

This is an interfaculty program jointly offered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science at the University of Zurich.

To ensure a high-quality teaching and learning experience, the program admits a maximum of 20 students per year.

The language of instruction is English

Students in our MSc will: 

  1. Build a comprehensive interdisciplinary background in Evolutionary Language Science,
  2. Acquire strong competences in empirical and quantitative methods,
  3. Develop expertise in disciplines that are relevant to the chosen Master’s thesis research project.
